Pictures & Prints
The school pictures are a really unusual & rare find!
They are original educational posters created for use in British schools from the 1930's to the 1940's & not reproductions.
The fact that they have survived is quite amazing as they were all obviously used & enjoyed by many teachers & children over the years.
They look wonderful framed & the graphics are so evocative of the era.
'Time' is a framed poem by Patience Strong with an embroidered look print of a garden & sundial.
The frame is a faux tortoiseshell which does have one small crack.
20.5 x 14cm.
This would make a lovely housewarming gift.
'House Blessing' is printed onto card & begins with the traditional lines:
'Bless this house, O Lord, we pray...' by Helen Taylor.
It measures 21x15cm. It does have some discolouration but this doesn't detract from it's vintage appeal. It has a fold out card stand at the back.
